ACT- Associate Mental
Health Specialist CADC/CCDP

The Associate Mental Health
Specialist will provide both community and home based rehabilitation, substance
abuse and mental health services and supports to an adult population focusing on
individual strengths and choices. Provide individual and group counseling,
assessments and individual treatment plans.
Bachelorís degree in Social work,
Rehabilitation, Psychology or other related Human Services field.
Certification by the State of
Delaware as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or Certified
Co-Occurring Disorders Professional (CCDP); or at least three (3) years of
supervised work experience in the substance abuse field and forty (40) hours of
training specific to substance abuse assessment and treatment. Knowledge of
substance abuse and mental health systems and supports. A valid driverís license
with an acceptable driving record.

The Substance Abuse Specialist has experience delivering case management,
outreach, individual, group, and psycho-education services to adults with
substance use and mental health conditions. He/she will have experience in
the development of individualized treatment plans based on the service
recipientís needs to include the coordination of referrals and other services to
reduce barriers to treatment. He/she will be experienced in assessment and in
delivery of a wide range of clinical and support services
Certification by the State of Delaware as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor
(CADC) or Certified Co-occurring Disorder Professional (CCDP); or
at least three (3) years of supervised work experience in the substance abuse
treatment field and
Forty (40) hours of training specific to substance abuse assessment and
Masterís Level & Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or Certified
Co-occurring Disorder Professional (CCDP) for ACT
The Mental Health Professional is a clinician with a Masterís degree and CADC or
CCDP who has experience delivering individual, group, and family counseling
services to adults with severe and persistent mental illness, including those
with co-occurring substance use disorders and/or physical disabilities.
S/he will be experienced in the development of comprehensive assessments and
treatment plans and in the delivery of a wide range of clinical, rehabilitative,
and support services. The Mental Health Professional is expected to share
clinical expertise with other staff in treatment planning and delivery for the
persons served by a multidisciplinary team in a community-based setting.
Education and Experience Requirements
Masterís degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field from an
accredited college or university. Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)
or Certified Co-occurring Disorder Professional (CCDP).
